New Plymouth Masters Swimmers (SEALS)

  • Appropriate for: Anybody gasping at two lengths, to swimming the cook strait (20yrs +). Join for encouragement, coaching, training and friendship.

  • Appropriate for: Adults looking to improve their swimming technique. These sessions are run by an experienced Ironman athlete, surf lifesaver and swim coach.

Taranaki Recreational Cycling

  • Some Sunday mornings

  • Egmont Village Hall

  • $3 per ride

  • Appropriate for: Anybody wanting a low key race followed by a cuppa and shared food after. Approx 35km

Mitchell Cycles Road Cycling Group

  • Every Saturday 2.30pm

  • Leaves from outside Mitchell Cycles (477 Devon St East, NP)

  • Free

  • Appropriate for: A variety of riders aiming to cover 40-65km in 1.5-2hrs. Pace is determined by the slowest rider with larger summer groups splitting off into faster and slower bunches.

Crowded House Bunch Ride

  • Every Sunday 8am (faster group) or 8.15am (Social Group)

  • Leaves from outside Crowded House (93-99 Devon St East, NP)

  • Free

  • Appropriate for: Faster group rides for 2.5-3hrs, pace can be fast where you may get dropped. Slower group rides for 2-2.5hrs, with a no drop policy. Coffee to follow in town.

Cycling Taranaki Crit & Track Sessions (Daylight Saving period Only)

  • Every Thursday 5.45pm (crit), 6.15pm (track), Daylight Saving period 

  • Taranaki Cycle Park (Bell Block)

  • $30 for a calendar year to ride both events or $50 per family or $15 for Aug to Dec or $15 Jan to April or  $2 per ride for a casual rider payable on the night. 

  • Appropriate for: All abilities! Crit sessions are handicapped with 6 laps completed of the big circuit (approx 10km). Track bikes are available for hire.

The Frontrunner Intervals

  • Every Monday 5.30pm

  • Leaves from The Frontrunner Shop (25 Devon St East, NP)

  • Free

  • Appropriate for: All abilities. A 50min group interval session encourages everyone to challenge themselves while working within their own abilities.

The Frontrunner Trail Run Group

  • Meets at the end carpark by the dam at Lake Mangamahoe

  • Appropriate for: All abilities are catered for with a walk, run/walk and run option. Multiple groups are all allocated with group leaders to ensure safety and inclusivity

  • Leaves from Pukekura Park Main Gates (Wed) and Bellringer Pavilion- Pukekura Park (Sun)

  • Appropriate for: All abilities both walkers and joggers. Approximately 60mins duration. Join them for a cuppa at the Tea House every Sunday post run.
